Stripes & Florals & Pups!

Daniel and I have been puppy sitting this 3 pound little nugget and we have sort of fallen in love! She is such a doll! Her name is Ellie and she is my cousin’s Yorkie!
She has been my constant sidekick and even accompanied me to a few estate sales where I found this vintage floral skirt and silver cuff bracelet!

Have you tried the stripes and floral combo yet? Ellie agrees that it’s a fun and easy way to pattern mix! :)

Look at that lil face! <3 <3

Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July and are enjoying your Friday!

Black + Brown + Daily Charms

One of my favorite color combos is black and brown (as seen here & here). It’s so easy to mix and match and even do some pattern mixing! In this outfit, I’ve incorporated 2 new items which I received from Daily Charms! They are a new online shop with extremely affordable and fashionable items. You know how I love to be chic on a dime!

One item I chose from the Daily Charms website was this adorable belt with gold band in the front($9). It’s elastic on the sides and will be making appearances on the blog quite often I have a feeling!

Another item I chose were these SUPER comfy black velour leggings. I’ve been really wanting a pair for quite some time and was excited to see these on their website for only $12! Although spring is coming to an end, I’m happy to wear these under my shorter dresses while the weather is still cool.

Daily Charms is offering Beauty & Bows readers a discount on any of their items when you use the code BEAUTY15. Head over to their site to check it out! And feel free to ask me any questions about fit or quality by responding to this post!

Not sure if you can tell, but I dyed my hair! I was going for an all over white-blonde and it didn’t really turn out that way. Going to keep working on the tone but for now I’m just a little brassy! Sigh…

Outfit Details: silk dress, thrifted $3.99; polka dot blouse, Ross $8; ankle boots,; necklace, Francesca’s $6; leggings & belt, c/0 Daily Charms

Dotted & Checked

Sometimes I come up with weird outfits…like this one. It’s fun to take 2 pieces in your wardrobe you wouldn’t usually pair and try them together. It takes a bit of trial and error, but the result can be fun! I tried to stick to 3 colors since there is a lot of pattern mixing. I think that is the key with pattern mixing…have a common element (in this case it’s black in the dots, on the skirt, and my tights).

ALSO, my hair is officially long enough to stay in a top knot bun…ALL DAY! Growing my hair out is driving me crazy but now that I have an easy updo option, I’m saved! There are still quite a few bobby pins involved, but it’s becoming less!

Happy Friday! I’m going to a white elephant gift party, then straight to a tacky sweater party (pics to come!), then to my husband’s concert ..all after work of course. It’s going to be AWESOME!

Outfit Breakdown: polka dot button down: Burlington Coat Factory, $7, black and white checkered pencil skirt: thrifted, $2.50, black tights: Gap, $6, heels: gift, belt: from another shirt, necklace: Francescas, $3.50

Dots on Dots

Target dress, Gap tights, Thrifted everything else.

Happy Saturday!!

Bubble Necklace

So I’ve been loving the bubble necklace trend going around, but as a small person I’ve doubted whether I could pull off so many beads hanging from my neck. While perusing Etsy several weeks ago, I found a shop that sells these bubble necklaces with fewer beads…and for only $16! After looking at each color, I landed on the creamy white option because I thought it would be the most versatile. I’m VERY happy with the size and color of this necklace and can’t wait to pair it with outfits to come!

Yesterday consisted of a trip to the court-house so I paired the necklace with a silk leopard print tank, plaid pencil skirt, and my deep teal cardigan. I’m trying to give pattern mixing a shot, and I really liked how this outfit came together.

In addition, 2 other exciting things from yesterday…

My husband (who is one of those ‘jack-of-all-trades’) is recording our friend’s next album. His name is Aaron Lee Martin and you should check him out here:!/pages/Aaron-Lee-Martin/7418274774

WE GOT A REAL CAMERA! With money from my bow tie sales, Daniel and I were able to buy this Canon Rebel t4i. We are excited to give ‘real’ photography a whirl and hopefully post some higher quality photos from here on out!
