Block Party

Breezy summer dresses are on heavy rotation these days, including this Target dress snagged from the end of summer sales rack last year!

Ignore the multiple bug bites all over my legs! Eep! The mosquitoes are eating me alive lately!

I can’t get enough of these wedges lately…they go with everything!

Outfit Details: color blocked emerald and navy dress, Target $7; red cardigan, thrifted $2; wedges, thrifted $3.50; glasses, Bonlook

On Saturday my Grandparents gave us last-minute tickets to the Wichita Symphony Orchestra and we couldn’t pass up the offer! What a fun chance to support local music, have a date night out of our norm, and get all gussied up all at once! I wore my recently purchased Target dress (found on the sale rack for $12! Someone had ordered it online but returned it to the store so it was mega on sale!) and the mink stole my Grandma gave me as a wedding gift last year. My Grandpa gave this very stole to my Grandma for her 30th birthday. It feels so special wearing a heritage piece!

I also chose to wear a few pieces of my wedding jewelry, like these fountain pearl earrings and pearl bracelet.

And of course, my man wore a bow tie (made by me and available for purchase in my Etsy shop, here). Gosh, he’s handsome! I love the grey hair in his beard and hair, signs of wisdom! :)

A Fall Stroll

This weekend my sweet sister-in-law was home on Fall break. Yay for Fall breaks so I can see the lovely sisters in my life!
Lizz came over for chili at our house then we walked by the river and admired the changing trees and the playful geese. We also made a pit-stop at  a new coffee shop in our neighborhood. Hooray!

I thought Lizz looked so cute in her dress and boots. It’s been so fun to have a sister-in-law who loves to bargain hunt and be crafty too!

4 Ways to Style Tights for Fall

1 easy way to transition dresses into Fall and Winter is by adding tights or leggings. My friend Ang always has the cutest outfits and often uses colored leggings. She is my model for today’s post highlighting 4 ways to wear tights this season!

For this outfit Ang chose bold colors and prints so she stuck with a more neutral deep purple tight with socks and boots. Her skirt is actually a dress that she paired with a sweater and belt. Isn’t that a fun idea?!

My personal fav of today’s post is this adorable red striped dress with purple tights and heels. This is a great example of how to wear a  short sleeveless summer dress into the Fall. Ang always inspires me with her color and pattern mixing. She always looks so fun yet put together.

As the weather continues to get colder, sweater tights can be a girls best friend. I love Ang’s fall colors in this outfit, deep purple, teal, and tan. Perfect! When wearing bright tights, it can feel a bit bold. A good place to start is by pairing them with more neutral colors, like Ang did here.

I love this outfit b/c it says to me that this girl is fun, and let me tell you she is! Yellow tights can be hard to pull off, but when approached with confidence, they are a great addition to an outfit! Ang chose to mix lots of color and pattern here for a totally unique and fun outfit.

Thank you Ang for helping me out with this post! I love how you rock tights!

Polka Dots & Friends

This is a rare outfit with NO thrifted items. It does happen occasionally, but it’s unusual. Haha
I sang in my cousin’s wedding today along with my 2 friends who are very talented singers. My sweet husband played guitar. It was a grand time!
