Well, it happened. I finally got tired of my hair and just had to have a change. That inevitably led to bangs.

They are chunky and funky and I’m still learning how to style them. But generally I’m happy with my crazy bangs.

Along with styling these bangs, I’m learning to style this ever growing bump. It can be especially challenging to try and dress it up for work, but I feel like today was slightly successful! It’s amazing this skirt can still fit around this thing!

I hope you all are having a great week and enjoying this lovely changing weather! Blessings!

A Mess

Can I just be honest and confess I feel like my life is a mess?! (hey that rhymes!)

My to-do list is every growing, including registering for EVERYTHING for this little 22 week nugget of mine. Pregnancy acne is in full swing, and I admit, it really has me down. Our poor old house desperately needs some TLC…notice the leaves and weeds that need swept up?
This week has felt like I’m standing in front of a mountain of projects that need done with no time to do them. Not to mention I can’t lift too much or inhale paint fumes. How is this nursery going to happen?
Whew. I don’t like the overwhelmed version of myself. Thank you for letting me be a bit vulnerable and get some of this off my chest. Am I the only one who feels this way?
Somewhere in the back of my mind I realize everything will come together. But the planner in me jumps to worry.

I’ve had this Jon Foreman song on repeat. It’s his version of Psalm 23. Trying to meditate on this passage this week.

God is my shepherd. He makes me to lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside STILL waters. What a peaceful scene.

My sweet husband assures me, all will be well. All will get done. He has such inner calm that I really appreciate. He truly is my earthy prince, my earthy representation of Christ.

Ponies & Puppies

My daily routine consists of taking this little one on a walk. Josie (my 1 year old rescue mut) is spunky and curious and happy to be alive! As funny as it sounds she really inspires me! She is always glad to greet me and even when I have to discipline her, she immediately comes to me, gives me a lick, and longs to reconcile her action. I love her pure little puppy heart!

And lately I’ve also been loving pony tails! This is a hair style I haven’t tried since I was quite young, but I’m enjoying how quick and easy it is to pull my hair away from my face on a hot day. Have you rocked a pony lately?

Baby girl is now 22 weeks along, over half way there! She is hiding under this lace peplum top! Lately I’ve been feeling her move a LOT. It’s a bit like someone is blowing bubbles in the pit of my tummy, but I love it! Just knowing she’s in there swimming around is so cool!

For now Josie is happy being my only ‘baby girl’ to cuddle with. Little does she know how soon her little puppy world will be rocked! ;D

Easter & Updates

Well hello blogging world! I took a bit of an unexpected hiatus from blogging on Beauty & Bows because life has been, in a word, BUSY! But lots of wonderful things have been happening!

Since we’ve announced our pregnancy:

  • Daniel got a new job with a great company in downtown Wichita
  • I got a new car (baby friendly!)
  • We found out we are having a GIRL! (see Instagram announcement video, here)
  • Daniel and I took a babymoon to Santa Fe, New Mexico & Manitou Springs, CO (fully documented on Instagram…of course)

During my B&B absence, I have continued blogging on Camp Makery, have you checked us out yet? A few of my latest post include:

Baby White is now officially 20 weeks along! She is halfway done! Can you believe it?! I feel her move every day now, especially while in the car!
This journey of motherhood so far has been overwhelmingly amazing. It is such a privilege to be a vessel to carry this tiny life. Yes, I pee every 15 minutes and am hungry ALL the time, but it is all a part of this special journey of God knitting her together in my womb!
Lately I just daydream about what my baby girl’s life will be like. I pray for her, cry for her (yep), laugh for her, and put my hand on my belly to be as close to her as I possibly can. I’m already so thankful and attached to this little one. :)

For Easter this year, Daniel and I went to church and spent the entire day with family. It was wonderful.
This vintage dress was found in Santa Fe at the MOST amazing resale shop called Double Take. If you are ever near Santa Fe…GO! This dress was a mere $12 and just 1 of the many treasures I found there.
Daniel’s awesome knit tie was also found 2nd hand in Santa Fe.

I hope all of YOU are doing great. I’m looking forward to getting Beauty & Bows back in action and interacting more with this awesome online community! Blessings!
