How to Make Flannel Work Appropriate

A few weeks back I thrifted this adorable flannel shirt (originally Gap) and thought to myself, “Well…I guess this will be a weekend shirt.” But this morning was rainy and cold and by-golly, I just wanted to wear flannel! So with a few twists, this is what I came up with to make flannel ‘work appropriate. I added a thrifted gold beaded necklace and gold bracelet. Next I grabbed my handy Ann Taylor Loft skirt. It has a higher waist that I could tuck the shirt into (instantly dresses up anything, right?) as well as pleats to give structure. And lastly some cute leggings and boots tie in the relaxed flannel look but give me that 1/2 inch heel to accompany the dressier feel.
